6 Days Bwindi Queen & Lake Mburo Safari Tour

These 6 Days Bwindi Queen and wildlife tour  takes you to Bwindi national park and for gorilla trekking, Bwindi N.P is one of the two parks in Uganda to house the endangered mountain gorillas. However Bwindi  known as the best gorilla destination housing over 400 out of the remaining 900 mountain gorillas in the world. The tour also takes you to Queen Elizabeth national park and Lake Mburo national park both parks are gifted with incredible species of wildlife some of which can’t be seen elsewhere. Queen Elizabeth national park is located in the southwestern part of Uganda from here you will continue to Lake Mburo national park the closest Uganda park to the capital city Kampala housing a number of wildlife species.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to 6 Days Bwindi Queen 

You will be picked at any agreed-upon point by our safari guide/driver who will take you to the southwestern part of Uganda to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to the few remaining endangered mountain gorillas. The journey from Kampala to the park takes about 7-9 hours’ drive, however, with stopovers at any interesting point like at the equator crossing for informative talks, snacks and photography, handicraft shops, and also at Mbarara for an hour lunch break.

After, we will continue with the drive through the gorgeous scenery sometimes referred to as the ‘’Switzerland of Africa’’ this is a great sight as you continue with the drive to the park. 6 Days Bwindi Queen, Depending on where you booked your accommodation you will arrive at the park in the evening either in the Ruhija sector or Buhoma sector of the park. Check into your pre-booked accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight at   Buhoma Lodge/ Chameleon Hill Lodge/ Mahogany Lodge/ Silverback Lodge / Gorilla Mist Camp, Ruhija Gorilla Friends Camp/Buhoma Community Campground

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla tracking and Nature walk in Bwindi national park

After an early breakfast at the lodge, our safari guide will drive you to the park headquarters where you will meet the park wardens or senior ranger guides who will take you through a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas and also get you allocated to the gorilla family to visit. After, the ranger guide will lead you to the impenetrable forest to begin the search of these incredible species of gorillas. Carry bottled water, and sometimes packed lunch since the trek is unpredictable meeting them depends on where they last spent the previous night from the search may go to a half or full day in the jungle, so don’t forget to put on strong shoes/boats.

Passing through the steep, thick and sometimes muddy forest is a bit tiresome, however, once these apes are meet you will forget all the troubles you have gone through and utilize the one hour you are allowed to stay with the gorillas, learn their behaviors as well as taking as many photos and videos with them. After this wonderful activity, retreat back to the lodge for relaxation and late lunch, if the evening is free go for a community walk and visit the Batwa community.  Dinner and an overnight at   Buhoma Lodge/ Chameleon Hill Lodge/ Mahogany Lodge/ Silverback Lodge / Gorilla Mist Camp, Ruhija Gorilla Friends Camp/Buhoma Community Campground

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

This morning after an early breakfast, our safari guide will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth national park a protected park hosting a large variety and volume of wildlife. It’s known for boosting the premier biodiversity of animal species than to any game park in the world ranging from the open Savannah to Rain forest, dense swamps, and beautiful crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. it houses over 120 species of wildlife including Hippos, Lions, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena among many others, over 606 species of birds are recorded in the area including the martial eagle, black-rumped buttonquail, 6 Days Bwindi Queen, Verreaux’s eagle among many others.

You will pass through the famous part of the park known as the Ishsha sector commonly known for its tree-climbing lion, you will stand a chance to spot them sited on fig trees or tree branches and many other animals as you head to the park. Have lunch en-route and later continue to the lodge check-in for relaxation dinner and an overnight at  Luxury: Mweya Safari Lodge/Katara Lodge/Kyambura Game Lodge/ Midrange: Enganzi Lodge/ Budget: Ihamba Safari Lodge/Mweya Hostel, Simba Safari Camp.

Day 3: Morning game drive and Launch cruise on kazinga channel

Followed by a morning breakfast will be a transfer to Kasenyi’s side of the park to catch up with morning risen rushing to their hide-outs. Games expect to see this morning include predators like leopard, hyena, lion, Elephants, others include buffaloes, warthogs, bush pigs, Uganda kobs, waterbuck, giant forest hogs, and many species of birds and plants. After this interesting activity, retire to the lodge for relaxation at the poolside as you wait for lunch.

In the afternoon after lunch, enjoy a 2 hour’s launch cruise on the Kazinga channel which offers another chance to spot various species of animals including schools of hippos and crocodiles swimming just a few meters from the boat. Whereas elephants and buffaloes  expected  along the shoreline plus many species of birds such as the kingfisher, herons, blue oraco and the shoebill for the lucky visitors. After, drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight at Luxury: Mweya Safari Lodge, Katara Lodge, and Kyambura Game Lodge/Mid A range: Ihamba Lake Side Safari Lodge, Enganzi Lodge/Budget: Hippo H-ill Lodge, Simba Lodge

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

After breakfast at the lodge, with packed lunch, our safari guide/drive will drive you to Lake Mburo national park a home to many species of wildlife. Arrive in the late afternoon at the park passing through Mbarara and then finally to the park, check into your pre-booked accommodation for relaxation. 6 Days Bwindi Queen, In the evening, you will enjoy a boat cruise on the lake for a chance to view various species of animals that live on the lake including schools of hippos and crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes as well as many species of birds will all be seen along the shoreline. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo rest camp, Arcadia cottages / Mantana lodge/ Mihingo safari lodge

Day 6: Game drive and departure

Wake up early for a cup of tea or coffee and later embark on a game drive to the park to catch up with early risen that rush out from their hide-outs, games to come across include spotted hyena, lion elephant, zebra, impala, buffaloes, giraffe, warthogs, giant forest hogs, among many others after come back to the lodge for full breakfast and later with packed lunch transfer back to Kampala and later to the airport to connect to your departure flight back home if scheduled on this day.
