9 Days Uganda Rwanda Gorilla, This 9 Days 8 nights trip will start and end either in Rwanda or Uganda. it will enable you to visit the 4 best national parks including volcanoes and Bwindi national park for gorilla trekking, it will continue taking you to Queen Elizabeth National Park for game viewing and later to Kibale Forest National Park a home to over 13 species of primates for chimpanzee tracking, from here you will proceed to the airport for your departure flight back home

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Kigali International Airport

On your arrival at Kigali international airport, our safari guide will be readily available to meet and greet you, and later he will brief you about all safari. Then  drive to Kigali city and have a short visit to the Kigali genocide memorial site a burial ground for over 20,000 people. Buried under the same graveyard if time allows also visit the local markets, handicraft shops.9 Days Uganda Rwanda Gorilla, Later, drive to Ruhengeri Musanze district, the drive  about 2-3 hours passing through the beautiful terraced hillsides that portray much of Rwanda’s landscape. Day 2: Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park

Wake up early for breakfast and then after, our safari guide  drives you to the park headquarters to meet the park wardens. Get you briefed about all process of gorilla tracking and also get you allocated to the gorilla family to track. After, you will head to the slopes of Virunga volcanoes following the ranger guide. You visit one of the ten habituated gorilla Rwanda family assigned to you, gorilla tracking regarded as one of the most interesting adventurous safari activity on earth trekking through the lush forested forest slopes of the Virungas is completely a wonderful experience.

Trekking time is unpredictable since meeting them depends on where they last spent their night from and on the food location, so some levels of physical fitness are needed as well as trekking gears like strong shoes/boots. You can trek from 1-6 hours through dense forest vegetation, slippery slopes, and changing weather. However, once they are met you will forget all the struggles you have gone through and utilize the one hour you are only allowed with the gorillas take as many photos and videos with them as you can and later return back to the base in time for a late lunch.

However some gorilla families like the Susa group are hard to find, and tracking can go up to full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Day 3: Transfer to the Ugandan side

Wake up in time for breakfast at the lodge, and then after, drive to the Rwanda-Uganda border and be transferred either to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation or direct to your preferred lodge at the park (the clock will backward for one hour). The meal plan for this day is breakfast, lunch, and dinner at your preferred accommodation. Day 4: Mountain Gorilla tracking and Nature walk in Bwindi national park

After an early breakfast at the lodge, our safari guide will drive you to the park headquarters where you will meet the park wardens or senior ranger guides who will take you through a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas and also get you allocated to the gorilla family to visit. After, the ranger guide will lead you to the impenetrable forest to begin the search of these incredible species of gorillas. Carry bottled water, and sometimes packed lunch since the trek is unpredictable meeting them depends on where they last spent the previous night from, the search may go to a half or full day in the jungle, so don’t forget to put on strong shoes/boats.

Passing through the steep, thick and sometimes muddy forest is a bit tiresome, however, once these apes are meet you will forget all the troubles you have gone through and utilize the one hour you are allowed to stay with the gorillas, learn their behaviors as well as taking as many photos and videos with them. The thrill of spending time observing the gorillas as they interact with each other is a pleasing and unforgettable one.  Day 5: En-route to Queen Elizabeth national park

Following an early morning breakfast will be a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park a home to a wide bio-diversity of wildlife species. From Bwindi we will pass through the famed part of Queen Elizabeth national park Ishasha sector known for its tree-climbing lions, we will enjoy watching them sited on fig trees. A game drive will also enable us to see more species of animals like antelopes, elephants, buffaloes, and many species of birds. Have lunch en-route, before arriving at the park in the evening. If the evening is free, you will be taken for optional traditional salt industries and mining methods or tours around the Crater Lake region which is a fantastic site. Day 6: Morning game drive and Launch cruise on kazinga channel

Followed by a morning breakfast will be a transfer to Kasenyi’s side of the park to catch up with morning risen rushing to their hide-outs. Games expect to see this morning include predators like leopard, hyena, lion, Elephants, others include buffaloes, warthogs, bush pigs, Uganda kobs, waterbuck, giant forest hogs, and many species of birds and plants. After this interesting activity, retire to the lodge for relaxation at the poolside as you wait for lunch.

In the afternoon after lunch, enjoy a 2 hour’s launch cruise on the Kazinga channel which offers another chance to spot various species of animals including schools of hippos and crocodiles swimming just a few meters from the boat, whereas elephants and buffaloes are expected to be seen along the shoreline plus many species of birds such as the kingfisher, herons, blue oraco and the shoebill for the lucky visitors. Day 7: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After your breakfast, our safari guide will drive you to Kibale forest national park a home to over 13 species of primates coupled with chimpanzee the closet relative to humans. Before arriving at the park, you will first take a visit to the kingdom of Toro a home to the youngest king in the world for cultural and historical brie. From here, continue to Fort portal town for lunch and later proceed to visit the crater lakes. Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking and Swamp walk

This morning after an early breakfast, our safari guide will take you to the ranger station before 8:00 am to receive a short briefing about all process of chimp tracking.  After, you will follow the ranger guide deep into the forest to begin the search for a chimp. These delightful apes more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are superb to watch as they play on tree branches or fruitful trees.  The time taken during the search of chimps is unpredictable since meeting them depends on where they last spent their night from so, a sturdy pair of walking shoes/boots  needed as well as packed water.

Only one hour  allowed with them once you meet them, take as many photos and videos with them as well as learning their behaviors. You will meet many other primate species during the search of chimps like the black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, civet monkeys, red colobus monkeys among many others.  After this memorable experience with the chimps, Retire back to the lodge for lunch, and later go for a guided walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary for more chance to see species of primates and birds like the shining blue kingfisher, blue Throated Roller, see various species of trees butterflies among many others. Day 9: Depart to Kampala

Wake up leisurely for a hearty breakfast and then after our safari guide/driver will drive you to Kampala with lunch stopover.
